Danielle Hannington

Danielle Hannington is the principal clinical psychologist at the practice. She has been practicing for over 30 years since graduating from the University of WA. She has worked within the University, as well as at major hospitals and in various private practice settings. She assists with a diverse range of presenting issues, including depression & anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD, trauma, insomnia, LGBTQIA+, gender, relationship issues and eating disorders. She accepts referrals relating to workers compensation and motor vehicle accidents. Danielle utilises a range of therapy techniques, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectal behavioural therapy (DBT) and hypnosis. She has extensive experience and interest in relationship, marital, couples counselling and sexual therapy.
Danielle is a member of the Institute of Clinical Psychologists.
Flora Gomes
BA (Psychology), MA (Clinical), MAPS, Registered Psychologist MAPS – Member of the Australian Psychological Society FCCOUNP – Fellow of the College of Counselling Psychologists
Flora has completed her study overseas and supervised placement through the University of Melbourne.
She has extensive experience having practised over 30 years in Melbourne and Perth. Further training has included Family Therapy, Systemmic Marital Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and EMDR. She has supervised both students and clinical practitioners through her career. Her experience includes working with multicultural families, cardiac patients, patients with chronic illness and the deaf community.
Flora values working collaboratively with clients to achieve the best possible outcome.
Avonia Donnellan
BA (Hons), MPsych (Clin), Clinical Psychologist
Avonia completed a Master of Clinical Psychology at The University of Western Australia in 1993. Since graduating, she has worked as a clinical psychologist in public, private, non-government and university services, predominantly with youth (16-25) and adults.
She has expertise in working with anxiety, depression, adjustment following significant life events, eating disorders and work-related stress (including burn-out and bullying). She is inclusive and non-judgemental in her approach; and is skilled in applying a range of therapeutic techniques informed by cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) and interpersonal neurobiology.

Larina Bromley
BSc (Psych), MA (HlthCouns), Registered Psychologist
Larina is a passionate mental health professional offering a full range of clinical and community mental health focused assessment and treatment with a broad experience with client orientations and backgrounds. She offers a very high level of clinical skill and provides clients with quality and caring mental health services.
She has extensive experience with people surviving trauma, PTSD and suicide bereavement. She works compassionately with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, panic, stress and family relationship issues.
She uses a client centred approach and assists with adjusting to life challenges and stress through the application of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family of Origin and Attachment Therapy and EMDR.

Dr Joseph Fleming
BA, BSW, MSW, PhD, Clinical Social Worker. Fellow of the AASW
Joseph is a very experienced clinical counsellor/therapist and an Clinical Social Worker. Joseph has a calm and relaxed style of
counselling towards working within areas such as Depression, Anxiety, child therapy, Anger Management and Drug and Alcohol addictions, to name a few, a
comprehensive list is found below. His likable approach fits the
counselling needs of his clients. Joseph’s calm, relaxed style, enables him
to work successfully within all areas of therapeutic intervention. Joseph’ s
strengths-based, outcome-focused approach to counselling draws on his
substantial training and experience, enabling him to tailor each session to
meet your individual needs.

Joseph has worked across Australia and overseas with a diverse range of
clients in several different services including employee counselling
services, universities, community agencies, addictions counselling services
and correctional facilities. Additionally, he had conducted workshops,
training and consultancy to government departments, community groups
and corporations. Joseph is also experienced in suicide intervention and
crisis intervention and has conducted numerous critical incident debriefings
for local businesses and national corporations.
Joseph’s desire is to work with individuals, couples, and families to help
people on their paths of recovery to wellness. He provides a safe and supportive therapy environment, in which people can explore their
presenting issues.
Monica La Ferrara
BSc (Psych). Registered Psychologist. Member of AAPI.
Monica is a fully Registered Psychologist with full endorsement with the Board of Psychologists (AHPRA).
Monica has been training as a psychologist for over 30 years overseas and in Australia.
Monica possesses expertise in many areas of counselling, mainly trained in Complex Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Other area of expertise include Depression, Anxiety, Grief and
Bereavement, Pain Management, Adjustment disorder, Domestic Violence, couples and relationship issues and family problems.
Her experience also includes working with clients from different backgrounds, (CALD) and Indigenous clients.
Her professional experience has a strong focus on Relationships and Marital issues.
Professional approach and Psychological Interventions include:
Psychoeducation, Cognitive/Behavioural Therapy, Psychotherapy, EMDR (Eye movement desensitisation techniques), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness,

Monica has worked in a variety of different settings, such as the Department of Health, EAP programmes, NDIS, Domestic Violence, AHT and in Private Practice.

She also speaks fluent Spanish, and intermediate Italian.
Sunny Therapy Dog
Sunny is a large standard Groodle and has been our therapy dog since 2019. She is hypoallergenic. Sunny has been trained to be calm and supportive, and is naturally gentle and intuitive. Many clients find much comfort with Sunny in the room. However, if you would prefer her not to be in attendance, she is very happy staying away in another room. Our clinic also welcomes your own well behaved support animals, should you wish for them to accompany you for your sessions. Please inform reception if you intend to arrive with you support animal.
